Camp Kupugani

Our multicultural sleepaway program focuses on diversity and communication skills in a fun atmosphere—uniting campers of varied backgrounds and providing them with empowerment and community-building skills, to expand comfort zones and build character.

About 90 minutes west of Chicago—in Leaf River, Illinois—our multicultural sleepaway program focuses on diversity and communication skills in a fun atmosphere—uniting campers of varied backgrounds and providing them with empowerment and community-building skills, so that campers expand comfort zones and build self-esteem. They enjoy activities like rock climbing, river walking, canoeing, playing under waterfalls, and night hikes under the stars, plus carefully designed group activities and games so that fun and personal growth coincide.

Comments from our campers bear out our program's positive effect.  “Camp Kupugani helped me see that I am beautiful on the inside and out. Because of my time here at Camp Kupugani, I want to teach girls that they are strong independent women who can change the world.”  "I learned things they try to teach you in school but here they actually teach you: unity, diversity, self-respect, respect, communication, decision-making, and easy conflict resolution."  "I love Camp Kupugani, because it gives me challenging opportunities to do better.  It gives me more knowledge about life and teaches me to be brave and try new things.  It gives me great and fun experiences."  “I love Camp Kupugani because the activities were great and that I learned how to love myself and learn how to find better ways to resolve conflict. Camp Kupugani ROCKS!”  “Camp Kupugani helped me realize everyone is unique and that makes us special, and everyone is alike and that brings us together.”  “!

Going to C.K. really helped me make friends, be happier, more sure of myself, and pretty much a better kid all around!”
